Today I am an exhausted rat. It didn't start out that way . . . . I was up at 6:45ish in the a.m. doing some final edits on Scott's resume and feeling rather good for having woken up numerous times last night. Oscar Wolfgang was running through the house all night long, digging in his litter box for WAY TOO LONG. Every hour (not kidding) I heard Scott yelling, "Oscar, stop it!" Well the cat finally calmed down when we got out of bed. I proceeded to make oatmeal for breakfast for Hayley and Ryan. Got Hayley all ready for school and sent her off with Scott this morning as he would be dropping her off at school (starting today for a whole month). I wasn't sure if Hayley would like getting to school so early for the "early morning" recess, but she loved it. School starts at 8:08. First bell rings at 8:05. I usually get her there as the first bell is ringing. So this is a new experience for her and I'm so happy she's happy about it.
Scott started his 4-week Family Practice rotation this morning. I believe it must have been incredibly nice for him to sleep in to a normal hour, to leave the house in normal daylight. However, he does work a long day still in my book. He got home around 7ish. He is working across town for the next month and so takes the car.
I, in turn, have started walking, that is, to pick Hayley up from school. It takes me approximately 25 minutes each way. So needless to say I am getting all the exercise I never wanted and then some. It's not that bad. I'm enjoying it somewhat. I put Ryan in the stroller and go, and of course, I'll be glad when the weather cools down a bit.
So we start out and I'm feeling good going up the slight incline. About halfway up the road, the itching in my legs starts. Itching is a reason in and of itself for me to never stop exercising. Easier said than done . . . . But here I am again, for the umteenth time in my life itching intensely as a result of the blood moving faster through my veins as opposed to what I call its more familiar "stagnant condition". So I had to slow down a little; in time this problem will work itself out.
Well, Ryan and I cleaned the kids' room and organized it a bit since their Old Aunt Chick is coming on Thursday. The lucky aunt that she is gets to sleep in the kids' room and they are as excited as hawks for her to come.
