Today Scott and the kids got up early and went on a hike to Shark Tooth Mountain. They went a long way before they came to the digging area of the mountain. They brought home a variety of shark teeth and they are currently in the process of making necklaces. The kids had a ball digging, and Scott's neck and face are beet red. I suppose he's a little more susceptible to the sun than our children are.
After the hike, they went to a Safety fair for kids, pretty close to the CALM (California Living Museum) Zoo. They brought home with them a slew of stuff from frisbees to coloring books to custom-fit bike helmets. Hayley and Ryan had a blast. Poor Scott was an exhausted rat, but thanks to him I was able to sleep in with Oscar and have some quiet time which I greatly needed.
Hayley, Ryan, and I went to the library later on today and checked out some fabulous books. Our library here has a wide selection of children's books and the friendly library staff all know Hayley and Ryan well. It is adorable!
