CALM Zoo Light Show

Every year here in B-Town, there's a light show at CALM (California Living Museum) during the month of December. We have been yearly pass holders since February 2008 and it has been worth every penny visiting with the lovely creatures at our leisure. Only animals that are native to California are found at CALM. And we just love seeing them . . . a pair of coyotes with big, bushy tails, a porcupine, raccoons, bald eagles, just to name a few of our favorites.

The light show is a winter wonderland of sorts and was a lot of fun (although the animals were all in bed at dark). The entire park was decorated with collages of festive lights resembling animals, etc. So cute! There was also a carousel for the kids to ride on. Anyway, we decided to go on the what seemed the coldest night of the year, at least for here in sunny California. We bundled up in hats, gloves, and coats, even Scott, go figure. (That always says something coming from a guy who wore shorts in Utah during the winter.)

Here's Ryan not so happy on his horse.

And here's Hayley happy to be outside, rain or shine, as the saying goes.

Hayley and Scott standing in front of a crocodilian holding an umbrella.

Hayley, Ryan, and I standing in front of a snowman family. Ryan was our sour puss for the evening and wanted no part of the picture.

Santa came to the zoo and Hayley was happy as a lark to sit on Santa's lap and chat with him for a bit. Ryan decided he would sit on Santa's lap next year, maybe. Don't cross your fingers.
